MEQUON, WI (BRAIN) Tuesday July 24 2012 11:05 AM MT—Hayes Components has hired Eric Schutt as product manager for all Hayes brands, including Hayes Disc Brakes, Manitou Suspension, SUNringlé, Answer and Wheelsmith.

“We are experiencing great growth with all of our brands and Eric’s skillset and knowledge of the industry is exactly what we were looking for to continue the momentum," said Josh Pallesen, Hayes Components director of product.

Schutt spent over 10 years working at SRAM in the company's marketing department. Most recently, he worked for Ray’s Indoor Mountain Bike Park, helping open a Milwaukee location while also serving as marketing manager.


Ellsworth Bikes hires Sean McClendon

SAN DIEGO, CA (BRAIN) Tuesday July 24 2012 11:08 AM MT—Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles has hired Sean McClendon as the company's relationships manager.

McClendon, AKA “Griz," joins Ellsworth after long recovery from serious injuries he received racing at the 2010 US downhill national championships.

The company said he will work "as a relationship builder with Ellsworth dealers, athletes and industry leaders, sales and building the resurgence of Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles in the gravity market."

“Sean’s personal passion for cycling, and life experience as a professional cyclist, magazine editor, and his integrity to sustainability and made in the USA are a perfect fit for our Ellsworth family," said Tony Ellsworth.


Pacocha leaves BikeRadar for Stages Cycling

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) Tuesday July 24 2012 11:18 AM MT—BikeRadar.com tech editor Matt Pacocha has left Future Publishing to join Stages Cycling, a company that sells power-based stationary training equipment.

Pacocha will be involved in marketing the company's first outdoor training product, which will be launched at Interbike.


Giant adds regional manager and account executives

NEWBURY PARK, CA (BRAIN) Tuesday July 24 2012 11:33 AM MT—Giant USA has expanded its regional management team, hiring Geoff Godsey as regional manager for the South. Godsey’s region includes Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. He joins Giant's existing regional managers: Monica Davis (West); Scott Helvie (Central); and Josh Fonner (East).

“Reduced regions mean our management team can provide a greater focus on fewer retailers,” said John Thompson, Giant USA executive sales director.

Giant also has added two account executives recently, adding Conrad Tufte in the Chicago area, and Brian Venable, in the Pacific Northwest.


Swagman hires new Midwest rep

PENTICTON, BC (BRAIN) Tuesday July 24 2012 11:11 AM MT—Swagman has recently hired Mike Lundeen to represent the bike rack manufacturer for the following territories: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

OIWC hires new executive director

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) Tuesday July 24 2012 11:14 AM MT—The Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition has hired Deanne Buck as executive director.

Buck has a legal background and 12 years of non-profit leadership experience in the outdoor industry.

"Sally Grimes, OIWC's first executive director, built an important organization that is in a great position for future growth,” said Buck. "Under the umbrella of the new mission and vision adopted last year, I'm looking forward to significantly moving the needle on gender equity and leadership diversity in the workplace. Our commitment to working with all our members and partners in the outdoor, snow, and bike industries will lead to solutions that move us to the next level of business sustainability.”

Buck officially started her new postion on Monday, July 16.


Osprey adds to Southeastern sales force

CORTEZ, CO (BRAIN) Tuesday July 24 2012 11:16 AM MT—Osprey Packs has added the Southeast Sports Marketing rep group to its bike market sales team in the Southeast.

Founded in 2010 by industry veterans Scott Williford and Cleve Blackwell, SSM's territory spans Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. With four reps SSM also represents SRAM, Scott, CEP, Vittoria and Hincapie.

“The guys at SSM are true professionals and bring years of experience in the bike market to the table,” said Patrick Piller, Osprey’s bike sales manager. “Osprey’s continued success in this segment will be complimented by SSM’s energy and established connections within the industry.
