MADISON, Wis. (BRAIN) — Phil Hendrickson, the father-in-law of Saris Cycling Goup founder Chris Fortune and father to Sara Fortune, has died at 97.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (BRAIN) — The driver who struck and killed First Flight Bicycles' owner Jeff Archer last July has pleaded guilty to driving while impaired and felony death by vehicle and was sentenced on Friday to 3 1/2 to 5 years in prison.

PITTSBURGH (BRAIN) — Rotating Mass Media has announced the departure of Adam Newman, the editor in chief of Bicycle Times. The publisher said it will stop publishing Bicycle Times as a print magazine, at least temporarily, but the title's website will continue.

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (BRAIN) — Organizers of the Breck Epic mountain bike stage race are planning a summit during this year's race that will focus on backcountry recreation and related topics. The Adventurism Summit will be a gathering of "advocacy organizations, land managers, athletes, pundits, authors, journalists and filmmakers," they said.
