Wednesday August 1 will mark the opening of the 7th annual Giordana Crossroads Classic. Hosted by Giordana cycling apparel, the GCC is a 5 day race series in and around the greater Charlotte area that runs through August 5. The series will again bookend the Presbyterian Hospital Invitational on Saturday night in downtown Charlotte. This year’s opening event will take place in downtown Mocksville, a new city for the GCC, with some of the top US pro teams lining up for the twilight races, the action promises to be non stop. The start list includes riders from, Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada, Jittery Joe’s/Kalahari, Nerac and Priority Health among others. The action moves to Salisbury on Thursday evening, Statesville Friday evening, then to Charlotte Saturday morning. The Giordana Crossroads Classic returns to Winston-Salem for its conclusion on Sunday afternoon.
