New e-commerce company offering remaining American Classic parts and wheels

Published May 29, 2018

OLDSMAR, Fla. (BRAIN) — A new e-commerce company founded by a former longtime American Classic employee is now selling American Classic replacement parts, cassette bodies, and axle kits as well as new hubs, rims and wheelsets.

American Classic closed down at the end of 2017; its owners said they are looking to sell the brand and its intellectual property.

Cody Gilbertson, who was American Classic's U.S. inside sales manager before the shut down, has formed Bicyclepartsupply.com, which acquired the remaining inventory. The company did not acquire any of the brand's IP.

"We are excited to be able to continue supplying parts for such a great product. We also know a lot of customers have been looking for these hard to find parts and we have them," Gilbertson told BRAIN.

He said Bicyclepartsupply.com will add more products later; currently the site carries American Classic parts exclusively. The company is selling at MSRP or less and does not offer wholesale pricing. BTI, which was American Classic's only distributor in the U.S., continues to sell some parts and complete wheels at wholesale.
