TAIPEI, Taiwan (BRAIN) — At a press conference that kicked off the 24th annual Taipei Cycle Show, the Taiwan External Trade and Development Council and the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters' Association presented 49 products with d&i awards. Five products, covering an eclectic range of designs, were given top honors. Presenters included Tony Lo, chairman of the TBEA and CEO of Giant.
Now in their third year, the d&i awards are intended to honor the best in innovation and design in the bike industry. Gold award winners were Ghost for its AMR Riot Lector 9 mountain bike; Gigantex Composites for its Equinox Miracle full carbon wheelset; Oyama Bicycles for tis 360-degree lock folding stem; InterLock for its integrated seatpost lock; and Darfon Innovation for its Panther PS1 e-bike.
The awards are organized by TAITRA, which runs the trade show, and the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters Association. The competition is organized by iF Design Asia, which assembles a panel of international experts to judge the submissions.
