Dorel completes purchase of Brazilian juvenile division

MONTREAL (BRAIN) — Dorel Industries Inc. is acquiring the remaining 30 percent interest in Companhia Dorel Brasil Produtos Infantis (Dorel Juvenile Brazil), which will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Dorel.

The company said its total investment in the division is 4.3 million Brazilian Real (approximately $1.6 million). One of the division's founding partners. Rafael Camarano, will continue in his role as its president and CEO, a position he has held since the division's launch in 2009.

The juvenile division was Dorel's first venture in Brazil. It expanded its business there in 2013 when Dorel bought Brazil's Caloi bike brand.
