Hans Rey partners with Duro tire brand

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. (BRAIN) — Hwa Fong Rubber, parent of the Duro tire brand, has begun a partnership with mountain biker Hans Rey. 

According to the tire brand, Rey will bring his knowledge and expertise to both the R&D and marketing departments at Duro and assist in developing the brand worldwide.

Hwa Fong has been in the tire industry for nearly 70 years, and offers more than 300 bicycle amd motorcycle tire designs.

"Hwa Fong rivals other high quality tire companies; we also make tires for many recognized quality brands that do not have their own manufacturing facility. In the past, however, we have not been able to present our products to the international market to their full potential. We hope we can change this through our relationship with Hans Rey who will promote the Hwa Fong own brand – DURO — to the world. In addition, taking on board Hans Rey's advice and recommendations; we aim to provide both better tires and better service to our customers," said Roger Luo, the manager of the export department at Hwa Fong Rubber.

The company said it may release a Hans Rey signiture tire line in the near future.

"I am very excited to be working with Duro Tires, their experience and know-how in the tire business is very valuable, they have been making bicycle tires for many years. And I'm excited to help them take their high performance tire line to the next level," said Rey.

Hwa Fong has 8 branches in Taiwan, China, Thailand and America and sells its products throughout the world.

Rey is also sponsored by GT Bicycles, Adidas Outdoor, Luk Clutches, Livigno Mountain Resort, Fox Shox, Crankbrothers, iXS protection, Clif Bar, Muc-Off, Deuter packs, Adidas Eyewear, SQ-Lab saddles/grips, and Shimano.
