Amer completes purchase of Louisville Slugger

Published April 22, 2015

HELSINKI, Finland (BRAIN) — Amer Sports has completed the acquisition of Louisville Slugger, which it first announced about a month ago.

Amer — which owns Mavic and several other outdoor sports brands, including Salomon, Atomic and Arc'teryx — has bought the baseball brand for $70 million in an all-cash transaction from Hillerich & Bradsby Co. The agreement has been approved by H&B shareholders.

Louisville Slugger will be consolidated into Amer Sports' Team Sports business unit, which includes the Wilson ball sports brand, effective Wednesday.

Amer will announce its quarterly financials on Thursday. The company's stock is traded on the Nasdaq Helsinki stock exchange (AMEAS).
