FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN) — Santa Cruz Bicycles, which was purchased by Pon Holdings earlier this summer, has taken over its distribution in the Germany and Austria markets, the company announced this week.

Santa Cruz also will distribute its Santa Cruz and Juliana brands to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Benelux countries effective Sept. 1. The distribution will be done "in close coordination" with Pon's Derby Cycle.

Santa Cruz was previously distributed by Shock Therapy in Germany and Austria, ID Sport in the Czech Republic and Bikes UnLtd. in Slovakia. Gjovalin Pepaj, formerly of Shock Therapy, is joining the sales and marketing team for Santa Cruz in Germany.

"I'm excited by the opportunity to strengthen the level of service and support for Santa Cruz and Juliana in Germany," said Gjovalin. "My transition into this new role brings experience and familiarity for our retail partners, and I look forward to welcoming enquires from new and existing dealers at our booth during Eurobike."

Race Company remains Santa Cruz's exclusive distributor in France. Race Company will hand over distribution in the Benelux to Santa Cruz Bicycles on Sept. 1.

"Santa Cruz Bicycles would like to thank our previous distribution partners Shock Therapy in Germany and Austria, ID Sport in the Czech Republic and Bikes UnLtd. in Slovakia for their hard work in bringing the Santa Cruz and Juliana brands to the market and products to our customers over the years," the company said.
