GIVISIEZ, Switzerland (BRAIN) — Scott Sports is becoming one of a handful of bike brands with its name as part of a World Tour team title.

The Swiss brand is stepping up to co-title sponsor status for the team known as ORICA-BikeExchange this year. Starting next year, the team will be known as Orica-Scott. Scott has been the organization's bike sponsor since its inception in 2012 as GreenEDGE Cycling.

The team revealed its 2017 kit on Monday; it will ride in the kit for the first tie at the Mitchelton Bay Cycling Classic on New Year's Day in Australia.

Scott Sports Vice President Pascal Ducrot said, "Scott and GreenEDGE Cycling go back to the beginning, to the first race ... We recognised from the start that our shared philosophy around building young talent has been our advantage. Today we are really proud to announce that we are upping the level of our commitment. This is the next step, and for us it was quite obvious."

"Today we are really proud to announce that we are upping the level of our commitment. We are here to build on the success of the team because we believe there is still tremendous potential. "

In addition to the use of Scott Sport's Foil, Addict and Solace bike models, the team will use components from the Scott-owned Syncros brand. The team announced last week that Giordana would be its clothing supplier.

Although team names could still change, currently the other 2017 World Tour teams with bike suppliers as title sponsors are BMC Racing, Cannnondale-Drapac and Trek-Segafredo.
