Shimano Europe opens third distribution center, in Lyon, France

LYON, France (BRAIN) — Shimano Europe has announced plans to open a new distribution center here to serve its French and Italian customers. It will be the third distribution center for Shimano in Europe, joining locations in the Netherlands and Poland. Shimano also has a distribution warehouse in Istanbul for the Turkish market.

The Lyon facility will offer delivery of bike parts and accessories from Shimano brands including PRO bike parts & accessories, Pearl Izumi clothing, Lazer helmets and other related brands.

Aad Ramondt, Shimano Europe's supply chain director, said, "With the continued growth of Shimano in Europe and our dedication to providing customers with the best possible service, we aim to accelerate business in France and Italy with a new distribution center.

"By establishing ourselves in the area we will be closer to customers, enabling us to offer faster deliveries and, together with our retail partners, allowing us to be more responsive to local needs and the demands of bicycle consumers. This move reinforces our commitment to the growth of Shimano in France and Italy. Furthermore this supports our overarching mission to help millions of cycling enthusiasts to enjoy nature and the world around them. We are delighted to choose Lyon for this purpose."

Shimano will work in partnership with global supply chain solutions company XPO Logisticsto build the distribution center, which is expected to begin operations next month.
