Minaar to race new Oakley goggle at Sea Otter

Published April 16, 2013

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA (BRAIN) — Oakley is introducing a new downhill mountain biking goggle that will be used by world Downhill champion Greg Minnaar at the Sea Otter Classic this week. The new goggles, called the Airbrake MX, feature a new lens technology using injection-molded Plutonite.

Oakley said the Airbrake MX is the first purpose built dirt-specific goggle with a lens made of injection-molded Plutonite. Instead of cutting the lens shape from a flat sheet and then bending them to shape, the new lenses are molder in the correct shape to eliminate distortion.

The lens frame is designed for an expanded field of vision and is made of durable and lightweight materials. Oakley did not release price or availability information.
