ERG! energy bars, developed by a cyclist, are going national

Published April 22, 2015

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (BRAIN) — ERG! energy bars, developed by Michigan masters bike racer Dennis Bean-Larson, contain simple whole, raw foods and are gluten-, dairy- and soy-free.

"I was sick of energy bars on the market that were mass produced and basically tasteless," said Bean-Larson. "So I went to work in the kitchen and put together real, raw, natural ingredients that tasted awesome and gave me the energy I needed to get my rides in... People I gave them to loved them, and the next thing you know, we were selling to the top bike shops, cafes and natural food shops. Now we are ready to expand nationally."

ERG! recently hired Steve Boehmke's bike industry PR firm, CFEprPlus, to represent the brand.

The bars retail for $2.50. They come packaged in an assorted-flavor 18-pack display box, a 12-pack box, and individually. Dealers' first orders ship at no charge.

Flavors are: Cashew Raisin, Apple Ginger, Apricot P'Butter, Pecan Date, Choco Cherry, Lemon Blueberry, Orange Espresso, Apple Spice, and the protein-rich Vanilla Sesame and Chocolate Hemp.
