Bianchi USA now shipping the Impulso 105 Disc Compact, a $1,600 disc-brake road bike

Published April 30, 2015

HAYWARD, Calif. (BRAIN) — Bianchi USA has just received its first shipment of its Impulso 105 Disc Compact, a disc-brake equipped road bike that retails for $1,599.99.

The company describes the model as the "workhorse" of its C2C (Coast to Coast) family. The company says its C2C models "are performance road bikes made comfortable, not comfort-oriented road bikes."

The model features a hydroformed aluminum frame matched with a full carbon fork that uses the brand's K-VID (Kevlar Vibration Isolation Device) vibration-damping technology.

The Impulso frame tubing profile has been maximized rider comfort and performance, with THT (triple hydroformed technology) toptube and aero headtube. The frame exceeds the European CE breakage standards by six times the minimum requirement. The sculpted rear portion of the bike reduces vibration that comes up into the rider's seat.

The frame has clearance for 28c tires.

The bike is available in six sizes, from 50cm to 61cm. It has a Shimano 105 11-speed drivetrain with a Shimano RS500 crank with 50x34T chainrings and Avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes and Reparto Corse tubeless-ready wheels.
