Brooklyn Bicycle Co. adds its first fixie model

Published July 13, 2015

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (BRAIN) — Brooklyn Bicycle Co. has released its first fixie model, called the Wythe, bringing its bike product line to 10 distinct models.

The Wythe model features a 4130 chromoly frame and fork, sealed-bearing high-flange hubs, puncture-resistant tires and front and rear quick-release brakes.

"Given that larger brands have exited this segment of the market, several of our dealers had expressed interest in our introducing a model in this category" said Brooklyn Bicycle Co.'s president, Ryan Zagata. "We were at first reluctant given the saturation of the fixie category but realized that many of the under-$400 bikes currently on the market are of poor quality and that there is a substantial gap we would be able to fill."

The Wythe retails for less than $500.
