Fox introduces new lightweight cross-country suspension fork, the 32 Step-Cast

Published April 5, 2016

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Fox Factory has announced a new cross-country suspension fork, the 32 Step-Cast. The company said the fork is its lightest cross-country fork ever, starting at 2.98 pounds.

The 100mm travel fork has narrow crown spacing to save weight — the upper legs at 120mm apart, instead of 130mm on other Fox 32 models. The stepped-out lower legs preserve spoke and rotor spacing and the fork has just as much tire clearance as Fox’s previous 32mm forks.

The new fork, available in 27.5-inch and 29-inch models, is roughly a half pound lighter than Fox’s Model year 2016 32 forks, depending on size. It will be available in 15QRx110 Boost or 15QRx100 axle options, with a three-position damper and lockout. Factory Series models have Kashima coating on the upper legs. The forks will be available in orange, black or white.

Retail pricing starts at $619 for the Performance version. A Factory version with FIT4 damper is $889; Factory with FIT4 with remote is $969 and the Factory FIT iRD version is $1,569. The forks will be available next month.
