Published March 16, 2017

OGDEN, Utah (BRAIN) — Mavic is introducing an updated line of one of its most popular products, the aluminum Open Pro road rim. First introduced in 1986, the Open Pro has been a standby product for many wheelbuilders.

The newest Open Pro rims are now UST tubeless compatible and are wider, with 19mm internal width. They feature an S.U.P. welded joint and stainless steel spoke eyelets. They are available in disc brake and rim brake versions and weigh 420 grams.

Rim brake versions are available with Exalith or UB Control braking surfaces. The Exalith rims will retail for 170 euros (about $182) each, while the UB Control and disc brake rims retail for 70 euros (about $75). All the rims are available in 24, 28, and 32 spoke drillings. The disc brake rims have asymmetric spoke drillings.
