Renovo offers wooden-framed gravel bike

PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Renovo Hardwood Bicycles has introduced the John Day, an adventure/gravel bike with a lightweight hollow wooden frame that the company said is engineered to deliver exceptional vibration damping for a smooth ride.

The John Day features "longbow" seat stays, awide/flat down tube, a curved top tube and hollow chainstays. The geometry features a long wheelbase, generous BB drop and a tall headtube.

The frame is made of black walnut and spruce wood. It has internal cable/wire routing, compatible with Di2. It has disc brake mounts, rack and fender mounts, uses a 27.2mm seatpost and has a 1 1/8-1 1/2-inch tapered headtube. It has clearance for 40mm tires. MSRP for a frame is $4,250. Complete bike builds start at $6,150.
