Topeak shows new bike case at Eurobike

Published September 7, 2017

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN) — Topeak unveiled a new bike case at Eurobike, the PakGo X. The case fits 650c and 700c road and TT bikes, and some hard tail mountain bikes. The case, expected to be available to consumers in late January of 2018, features an upright design that allows luggage-like rolling when traveling. The case includes a built-in TSA lock, carrying handles, and four large multi-directional wheels, making easy to transport, the company said.

The PakGo X's shell is made from a German polymer, Makrolon, a polycarbonate material that Topeak said makes PakGo X tougher, stronger, lighter, colorfast, and more abrasion resistant than other carriers. It weighs in at 12kg/26.5 pounds. Internally, the PakGo X includes an internal mounting stand that is removable from the case, compatible with both QR axles and 12mm thru axle. The stand holds the frame securely and facilitates disassembly and reassembly. Two wheel bags are included, along with a dummy hub and chain guide, a headset spacer, protective padded sleeves, and drivetrain cove, along with inner pockets to help keep gear organized.

The PakGo X is expected to retail at $849.95  and will be available through Topeak's U.S. distributor, Todson.
