Published January 11, 2018

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Stages Cycling is now selling and shipping Stages Power LR, its first power meter that measures left and right side power. The company is also now shipping the Stages Power R, a right-only meter that expands frame compatibility and can also be paired with new or existing Gen 2 Stages Power left-only meters.

Stages Power LR for Shimano Dura Ace 9100 is available for $1,299 retail; for Shimano Ultegra R8000 it retails for $999. Stages Power R retails for $749 for Dura Ace 9100 and $649 for Ultegra 8000.

"Stages Power meters revolutionized the power measurement category when we launched 5 years ago," said Pat Warner, the vice president of Stages Cycling. "We made what once was the realm of sponsored professionals and those with deep pockets accessible to any dedicated cyclist. Stages Power LR expands our line and keeps us on the path of our original goal of providing power for every rider. Stages Power R is yet another option, providing an additional frame-compatibility solution and the ability to pair any new or existing Gen 2 Stages Power left-only meters to a LR system."

All Stages Power meters work with the company's Stages Dash GPS cycling computer or any other third-party ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart compatible cycling computer. Stages Power meters are now being manufactured with updated electronics, including the latest generation radio antennas that are six times as powerful as those originally used, which the company said improves compatibility with a wider range of cycling computers and sports watches. The power meters offer IPX7 water resistance rating and battery life of 175 plus hours from user-replaceable 2032 coin batteries. The power meters add 35 grams to the crank weight.

The remaining legacy stock of Gen 2 Stages Power meters are available at 10 percent lower MSRP from authorized Stages Cycling dealers and online at www.stagescycling.com.
