TRABUCO CANYON, CA (BRAIN)—Xterra Adventures, a multi-sport adventure travel company, and Specialized Bicycles have teamed up to provide a star-studded tour for Specialized Riders Club members.

Through the generous support of the Specialized Riders Club and organizers of the Tour of California, Xterra Adventures is offering a unique cycling vacation opportunity in conjunction with the 2008 Amgen Tour of California.

Participating Specialized Riders Club members will start their adventure at Specialized headquarters in Morgan Hill, California, then wind through miles of rolling hills and breathtaking ocean views to ultimately finish in Pasadena, CA along with the conclusion of the official Tour. This fully supported seven-day, six-night tour will give Riders Club members the exclusive opportunity to ride the course, meet some of the professional racers, attend private industry and VIP events and get a chance to ride along in the team chase vehicle. The experienced guides at Xterra Adventures as well as several riders, engineers and designers from Specialized will accompany the Riders Club members on their point-to-point trace of the Tour’s race course.

“We are excited about the Specialized Riders Club trip during the 2008 Tour of California. This guided tour is designed for the cycling fanatic, with behind the scenes opportunities unavailable to the general public. Xterra Adventures is pleased to offer a trip that allows Specialized Riders Club members to ride some of the best routes of such an epic race. We are providing the experience of a lifetime, from the moment they arrive in San Jose through the last stage in Pasadena,” said Roman Roth, president of Xterra Adventures.

Specialized Riders Club manager Ian Dewar added, “Our excellent relationship with sponsored teams and with the AMGEN Tour of California organizers puts us in a unique position to offer unprecedented access at the race and the opportunity to ride during the first of this year’s great races.”
