Published July 2, 2008

GREENVILLE, S.C. (BRAIN)—Hincapie Sportswear has relaunched www.GeorgeHincapie.com, the company’s Web site dedicated to co-owner and Team Columbia professional rider, George Hincapie.

The new website will feature behind-the-scenes photos, video interviews and rider performance data from Hincapie during the 2008 Tour de France, which starts on Saturday.

“We are very excited about these new features on George’s Web site,” said Rich Hincapie, president of Hincapie Sportswear. “We wanted to redesign the Web site, but we didn’t want to just give it a new look. We wanted to take advantage of some great new technology that will give visitors a totally new experience online. Polar and VeloNews are helping to make some of these new features work. I think people are going to love the new site. Fans can get closer to George than they ever have been before.”

Following every stage of the 2008 Tour de France, Hincapie’s Polar CS600 performance data will be posted on GeorgeHincapie.com. Fans can view his heart rate and power output throughout each stage. Riders can compare themselves to one of the world’s greatest cyclists, giving them a new appreciation for what Hincapie goes through in the three week stage race.

Exclusive video interviews will be conducted daily by VeloNews prior to each stage of the Tour. Hincapie will give a candid account of what is happening in the race, granting unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to his Web visitors. These videos will only be available on GeorgeHincapie.com and VeloNews.com.

“I’m having fun submitting photos and writing updates on my website,” said George Hincapie. “Posting the performance data during the Tour should be really interesting for everyone. Most people are totally amazed at what we go through on the bike.”

Additional website features include special iPhone photos taken by Hincapie as he races and trains throughout the season

The GeorgeHincapie.com re-design is part of Hincapie Sportswear’s increased emphasis on interactive marketing for 2008. The company is planning a complete re-design of all its Web sites, including www.GeorgeHincapie.com, www.Hincapie.com, www.HincapieRacing.com and www.TeamHincapie.com.
