PETERBOROUGH, N.H. (BRAIN)—Eastern Mountain Sports has launched a new outdoor community Web site called mntnLIFE.com, where like-minded consumers can access free trail data, share tips about their favorite destinations and plan same-day trips.

Content for the Web site is driven by professional Eastern Mountain Sports Guides and members of the Mntnlife.com community. The site will highlight popular destinations for hiking, mountain biking, climbing, kayaking, canoeing, surfing, kiting, snowshoeing, cross-country and backcountry skiing.

“Our goal with Mntnlife.com is to create an online community where outdoor athletes can find exciting new places to play and share their favorite places with others,” said Scott Barrett, Eastern Mountain Sports chief marketing officer. “The live content changes on a daily basis, reflecting the passion and expertise of our Eastern Mountain Sports Guides, our customers, and other Mntnlife.com members whose personal tips and insights can help athletes of all ability levels to have more fun outside. Mntnlife.com is the essential resource for spontaneous or planned outdoor pursuits with the added benefit of an energetic online community to call home.”

Mntnlife.com offers a unique combination of community, free content, and a vast database of land trails and water sport routes. Membership to the site is completely free, and if visitors register and maintain a user profile on Mntnlife.com, they are able to save and download GPS data, edit any trail found on the site, organize group excursions, post to an open forum, find local events, and search for other members within the site.
