NEWBURY PARK, CA (BRAIN)—Giant has bolstered its global product development team with three new hires in the last three weeks.

The new staff additions include Chris Arriaga as global youth product developer, Abby Cooper as Giant for women product developer and Ken Edlauer as lifestyle category manager, significantly strengthening Giant’s product development team.

“We’re thrilled with the latest additions to Team Giant,” said Dennis Lane, Giant global product development director. “With Abby, Chris and Ken, we’ve added valuable industry experience and a terrific level of cycling passion to help create great Giant products.”

Arriaga, Cooper and Edlauer will each be based at Giant USA headquarters in Newbury Park, California.

Edlauer, who will lead Giant’s efforts in the increasingly popular categories of comfort, cruiser and metro bicycles, comes to Giant with more than 10 years of product development experience at Diamondback Bicycles. Most recently he worked at Bravo Sports, doing product development in various sporting goods categories for mass merchants.

Cooper also brings a wealth of experience to the Giant for Women program. She worked as a certified mechanic and salesperson at Bicycle Garage Indy in Indiana, and as a buyer for Art’s Cyclery in San Luis Obispo, California. Cooper is an experienced competitive cyclist who has raced professionally in both road and mountain biking.

Arriaga, a pro-level BMX rider and resident ripper at Giant’s warehouse ramps in Newbury Park, previously worked for the company’s Mosh Parts division. A former racer who now specializes in dirt jumping and freestyle riding, Arriaga brings both sales and brand-building experience to Giant’s youth products efforts.
