Ritchey, Trips for Kids Partner Up

Published December 28, 2008

SAN CARLOS, CA (BRAIN)—Ritchey Design has partnered with Trips for Kids, in a unique social media fund-raising venture.

The innovative partnership takes advantage of Plus 3 Network’s Web 2.0 model and extensive member base. By selecting Ritchey Design as a sponsor, Plus 3 members can choose to raise money for Trips for Kids with every mile they ride, walk, run, or swim. The Ritchey/Trips for Kids partnership is scheduled to go live no later than January 1, 2009, offering a perfect News Year’s fitness and fundraising resolution. Go to www.plus3network.com (click on link) to make every mile count for you and Trips for Kids in 2009.

Plus 3 Network is a GPS-enhanced social network that manages, motivates, and rewards members for participating in fitness activities by linking them with corporate sponsors in a common cause of worthwhile giving.

Ritchey Design vice president of marketing Steve Parke said, “Trips for Kids is making an impact and improving outcomes for deserving young people. Plus 3 helps motivate people to ride bikes and raise money for charity every day, not just on weekends or at special events. It’s a perfect fit. Ritchey is excited to be involved.”

Trips for Kids founder Marilyn Price sees the relationship as part of a larger tradition of cause-related activity in cycling. ““For more than 20 years, Trips for Kids has been taking disadvantaged kids on enjoyable, educational mountain bike rides,” Price said. “Like Ritchey Design, the original inspiration came from riding on Mount Tamalpais in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ritchey Design is a long-time supporter of Trips for Kids, and we are thrilled to have this additional donation. It’s also a great way to motivate people to get fit and give back.”
