Ride On Europe 2009 Cancelled

Published January 19, 2009

FINALE LIGURE, Italy (BRAIN)—The Ride On group of brands has announced the cancellation of the European leg of the Ride On event—due to be held in Finale Ligure from Feb. 13-15.

It was clearly felt by the group that there was insufficient interest in an OEM event to be held in Europe at that time and therefore the mobilisation of what is an important logistical effort for each company, was really not justifiable. This is unfortunate, as a number of companies were interested in the event in the fabulous area of Finale Ligure, but just not enough. Ride On appologises to these companies and to the area of Finale Ligure for any inconvenience.

In speaking with one of the founding members of the group it was said that, "this really shows that early December is the critical time for the discussion of bike specs and
that mid-February is just too late for most bike brands."

He then added, "This underlines the importance of Ride On Taichung in early December. We expect the success of the event to continue and will almost certainly lead to a growing number of product managers wishing to participate."

The Ride On event was first launched in Europe roughly 10 years ago with a small group of brands and has now evolved into a very important event for bicycle product managers
from all over the world—for whom this group of top level component suppliers is a must-see in Taichung for the Ride on event in early December. Product managers can see and
event test ride new products for the following year’s ranges.

The Taichung event will go into its fourth year in December 2009.
