Former UBP Owner Lands at Kemco

Published March 3, 2009

PACOIMA, CA (BRAIN)—Kemco International has hired industry veteran Ron Blocher as its new U.S. sales representative.

Blocher had been the owner of United Bicycle Parts, a distributor located in Ashland, Oregon. UBP folded up shop in late January because business was slow.

Kemco is a Los Angeles-area based importer and distributor that handles Vuelta-brand parts and accessories, Weldtite products from England, Singletrack Solutions bar ends and other specialty lines.

"Ron brings a lot to the table," said Kemco president Tom Curran, who will be coordinating Kemco's sales and marketing programs with Blocher. "He has a depth of knowledge and experience that is unequaled, and his personal relationships within the industry make him more than just another sales rep."

Blocher is assigned to service existing and develop new accounts in the Continental U.S. within the OE, distributor and IBD channels.

"I've known both Tom and Dave Kemmerer during my career, and it's great to finally work with them to help bring Kemco to the next level," Blocher said. "Kemco offers a variety of innovative products that feature excellent pricing, quality and value, which are important in today's economy. It will be my pleasure to work with retailers, distributors and others in the industry to help improve their business by introducing them to what Kemco has to offer."

Blocher is based out of Ashland, Oregon, and can be reached at (541) 201-8852, by cell at (541) 941-5381 or email at ron@kemcogroup.com.
