Survey Findings to be Presented at BLC

Published January 25, 2010

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—Thanks to the cooperation of the bike industry's most popular Web sites and publications, there will be original research presented at the Bicycle Leadership Conference on April 13-15 in Monterey, California.

Both the Demographics and Women's panel will take advantage of the surveys of consumers from velonews.com, bicycling.com, bikeradar.com and cyclingnews.com. Click on link to take the survey.

The surveys, constructed by Bikes Belong research & statistics coordinator Kate Scheider and BLC director Ray Keener, query web visitors about their riding and buying habits and attitudes. There's a general survey, and one specific to women.

"We're excited to have some fresh and specific research about our core consumer," said Brad Edmondson, who heads the Demographics panel. "That will add relevancy to our presentation, and give BLC attendees some hard information to take home and apply to their businesses."

Competitor Group vice president of endemic sales Kevin Burnette is glad to offer the site's resources. "We consider it our duty do do whatever we can to help the industries we serve," Burnette said.

Scheider is especially interested in the women's survey. "Now that our industry is offering many women's products and organizing women-specific clinics and rides, we want to find out if we're hitting the target from the women who are buying and participating," Scheider said.

Survey information will only be available to BLC attendees in April. For more information about the BLC, go to www.bicycleconference.org.
