Published January 26, 2010

SAN CARLOS, CA (BRAIN)—Ritchey Design has promoted Kendall Young to the newly created position of North American director of sales for both Ritchey and Syncros brands.

Kendall joined Ritchey Design in 2002 as distributor sales manager and was in charge of direct sales to U.S.-based distributors and national accounts. Beginning with the acquisition of Syncros in 2005, Young played an integral part in introducing distributors and brands to the breadth of Syncros products aimed at serving the mountain biking segment.

New responsibilities will include managing daily sales operations of both the Ritchey and Syncros brands as well as direct sales to U.S.-based OEMs.

"I am optimistic and enthusiastic about the opportunities ahead," Young said. "Ritchey leadership, past and present, has set forth a clear path to ensure that the company experiences continued growth and I know that I have a strong and highly experienced Ritchey team behind me."

Prior to his time at Ritchey, Young had 25 years of cycling industry expertise gained from working with leading brands such as Raleigh Bicycles, Bridgestone Cycles USA, Marin Bikes, Catalyst Communication and Topeak.

"Kendall continues to contribute a wealth of national and international sales management expertise to our company, as well as a solid background in direct mail and marketing," said John Frechette, chief operating officer for Ritchey Design. "We congratulate Kendall on his new role and are confident in the value and perspective he will continue to add to the Ritchey management team."
