Funn MTB Adds Schwartz to U.S. Team

LOS ANGELES, CA (BRAIN)—Funn MTB is gearing up to spread the word on their products in the United States with the hiring of industry veteran Justin Schwartz.

Schwartz joins another industry veteran, Rich Vitiello, who is in charge of all OEM and aftermarket sales worldwide for Funn MTB products.

“We are excited to bring Funn directly into the California U.S. market and start transmitting better information of the product at great events like the Sea Otter and Downieville Classic,” said Schwartz, who will be in charge of marketing and design.

“Having a new California-based office will help Funn create awareness, educate users with the product and have a better relationship with distributors," he added.

Known for DH racing handlebars, stems and pedals, Funn will use its Northern California office to assist development of more all-mountain and XC related product, namely new cranksets and stems.

“In the past few years Funn products have always had a contract with Muchachos Global Corp. for assistance with sales,” said Vitiello, who has worked for the likes of Mongoose, Huffy and Iron Horse. But now that the contract has expired, Funndation Co. will be taking over 100 percent of all responsibilities, Vitiello said.

Funndation Co. will continue licensing the Funn brand name to Funn Brakes. “It is the one and only item that Funn MTB will not be involved with,” Vitiello said. "Both companies are different and are not related.”

“Most come to believe that Muchachos Global Corp. maintain ownership over Funn MTB products,” Vitiello said. “They maintain no ownership and the only involvement they had was as our sales agent through 2009.

In 2006, according to Vitiello, Funn MTB established its own factory so that it could maintain product quality and security as well as become more involved with production, while at the same time starting the Funndation Co.
