CFG Launching Drop-ShipDirect

Published May 10, 2010

AMES, IO (BRAIN)—Cycle Force Group (CFG) and participating wholesale distributors are making parts and accessories available to bicycle dealers in an innovative, cost efficient way—and at very competitive prices.

By working with this new Drop-ShipDirect program, participating distributors can pass along savings they accrue by eliminating the expense of warehousing, handling, and shipping.

Orders that dealers place on the Drop-ShipDirect.com Web site are drop-shipped directly to the dealer’s store from CFG's Iowa Distribution Center and invoiced by the dealer's preferred distributor according to the terms already established between dealer and distributor.

In addition to current CFG inventories, Drop-ShipDirect also offers products from Messingschlager GmbH headquartered in Baunach, Germany. Messingschlager has built strong relationships in the Far East as a result of importing large quantities of bike products for the past 85 years. These relationships over time have built Messingschlager’s buying power, allowing them to stock products in the company's CFG/Drop-ShipDirect Iowa warehouse at very low prices. Messingschlager supplies thousands of distributors in more than 45 countries.

“We see Drop-ShipDirect as a win-win for everyone,” said Matthew Nims, vice president of sales at Cycle Force Group. “Dealers can take advantage of great low pricing. Distributors can reduce inventories and lead times. We also make it possible for potential new suppliers—foreign or domestic—to gain a foothold in the U.S. by relying on our sales staff, warehousing capabilities, and many other services without having to commit anything to the equation other than inventory.”
