Dealer Breakfast to Open Cross Fest

Published September 27, 2010

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (BRAIN)—The Providence Cyclocross Festival opens in less than two weeks with an industry-only dealer day and breakfast.

The three-day festival kicks off Oct. 8 at Roger Williams Park, opening with a dealer breakfast sponsored by Bethel, Connecticut-based Cannondale. The breakfast will include a “State of the Northeast Bicycle Market” presentation featuring industry leaders, as well as updates on the development of bike paths and facilities set to open in the next five years.

Following the breakfast, The Bike Cooperative will host a training seminar, where it will present its top 10 retail trends for 2011. During the first day, the exhibition area is also open only to the trade and demos of 2011 product will be available.

“We’re going to have the same world class course used for the weekend available for demos all day Friday,” said Richard Fries, marketing and communications director for GSD Event Productions, the festival’s organizer. “This park positioned right off Interstate 95 and close to so many great amenities, provides a low-cost means for shop owners to grant their key staff access to information critical to their success in 2011.”

The Providence Cyclo-cross Festival Presented by Interbike will be held Oct. 8 to 10 and is open to the public on the 9th and 10th. Dealers should register for the Friday dealer event on BikeReg.com. Entry is free for spectators on Saturday and Sunday. Visit www.providencecrossfest.com for more information.
