Published March 4, 2011

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (BRAIN)—Timbuk2 has hired Nicole Chabot as international sales director.

Chabot brings more than 18 years of business management and international sales experience in both the consumer lifestyle and outdoor industry arenas.

“We see tremendous opportunity for international growth for Timbuk2, particularly in Europe and Asia,” said CEO Mike Wallenfels. “With Chabot’s successful track record for growing brands at both a national and international level, she will be a huge asset as we continue to build Timbuk2 as a globally-recognized brand.”

Most recently, Chabot served as the director of sales at Carve Designs, where she played an integral role in growing the surf-inspired brand. By establishing their national distribution presence across nine independent sales agencies, Chabot showcased her sales and strategic leadership in the retail industry.

Prior to Carve Designs, Chabot was the international market development manager for Mountain Hardware Inc., where she secured new international distributors in Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Norway, Hungary, Greece, Nepal, and South Africa. In addition, Chabot co-managed the development of the outdoor brand’s “Global Retail Store Guide” sales tool for international retail roll-outs, which resulted in the creation of 17 retail outlets across Korea.

“I’m very excited to join the innovative team at Timbuk2,” Chabot said. “Timbuk2 is a brand with global appeal: it produces quality bags and accessories that are in-line with the current trends in our key international markets. I’m looking forward to furthering our reach and developing lasting relationships with customers overseas.”
