BPSA Enrolls New Members

MONTGOMERYVILLE, PA (BRAIN)—The Bicycle Product Suppliers Association has added several new suppliers to the fold for 2011 including Asahi, Benotto, Crankbrothers, Easton Bell Sports, Hutchinson, NetSertive, Osprey Packs, Park Tool, Smith Optics, Topeak and Yakima.

“The 8 percent discount on Interbike booth space has been a great conversation starter,” said Ray Keener, BPSA’s executive marketing director. “In some cases that more than covers the cost of membership. And there are so many other benefits to build a strong case.”

Pat Hus, director of sales for Easton Bell Sports, summed up his company’s decision: “We re-joined the BPSA because we value the work they are doing and we use the tools they provide on a regular basis,” Hus said. “It's a great organization and we are proud to be members again.”

For Smith Optics, the decision was largely driven by the access to sales data. "There are many benefits to joining the bike industry's supplier association,” said Blair Clark, VP of sales and marketing. “The primary one for us is access to the Leisure Trends Group sales data. What a powerful tool for Smith Optics, in both existing and potential product categories."

Park Tool is also back in the BPSA fold. “We've not been BPSA members for years, because many of the benefits didn't apply to our company,” Hawkins said. “The Interbike and BLC discounts as well as a chance to be part of a thriving, forward-thinking organization have us back on-board for 2011."

The Interbike discount applies to any eligible supplier company that joins or is a current member of BPSA before May 6. Eight percent will be rebated even if you’ve already signed a 2011 contract or paid your deposit. BPSA membership years run July 1 – June 30 of the following year.
