Larry Pizzi, Currie’s President, presented two IZIP Express Police Edition electric bicycles on Thursday to LAPD Deputy Chief, Terry S. Hara and Sgt. Matthew Bygum, officer in charge of the LAPD Bicycle Coordination Unit and Lieutenant Dana Berns, officer in Charge of LAPD Training Division.

Also in Attendance for the presentation were former Mayor
and cycling enthusiast, Richard Reardon, Cecilia Glassman, the executive director of the LAPD Foundation and Dave Snyder, president of the California Bicycle Coalition.

The formal presentation was made at the Currie's IZIP store in L.A.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to support the LAPD and the City of Los Angeles with these Special Police Edition IZIP Express electric bikes,” said Pizzi. “High performance bikes like these will allow the LAPD to take their community policing to a whole new level. Providing LAPD officers with electric bikes to increase patrolling is both a financially responsible and environmentally sustainable example of how we can do more with less while keeping our communities safe."
