Steve Baker Leaving Hincapie Sportswear

Published June 6, 2011

GREENVILLE, SC (BRAIN)—Long-time Hincapie Sportswear marketing director Steve Baker is leaving the company in June to pursue new opportunities personally and professionally.

“This was a hard decision for me to make, but in the end, I know it’s the right one for me and the company,” Baker said. “I am leaving on a high note to pursue some exciting personal opportunities. Hincapie Sportswear is in a great place with a great team to take it forward into the future. I’ve been with this company since the very beginning and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed building the brand and watching it grow. I won’t be here day to day, but I will still have involvement with Hincapie on an occasional basis.”

Hincapie has experienced some accelerated growth over the last 12 months, and the future looks even brighter. They have added key staff, opened new dealers and grown the business in every category. Baker leaves the company with strong momentum and a capable team in place to continue this energetic pace.

“I have mixed feelings about Baker’s departure,” said Rich Hincapie, president of Hincapie Sportswear. “He was one of the first full-time employees we hired and he’s been a big part of what we’ve accomplished. I’m sorry to see him go, but I’m excited for him to pursue new opportunities. We have a friendship that extends beyond the business, and he will always be part of this brand.”
