Giant Teams with Shopatron in Canada

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (BRAIN)—The Canadian arm of Giant Bicycles has partnered with retail-integrated eCommerce solution provider, Shopatron, to make their line of cycling accessories available for purchase online.

With a couple mouse clicks, bicycle enthusiasts throughout Canada can now select from over 500 Giant products, from clothing to handlebars, and purchase them right from their home computer or mobile device.

Giant's U.S. office said it doesn't see any need to go e-commerce for gear at the present time.

“Our customers love the Giant brand,” said Brandon Crichton, gear product manager for Giant Bicycle Canada. “Now we can give them easier access to the products they love, while at the same time keeping our retailers involved. And our involvement in the sale provides direct access to our customers that we have not had in the past. This is a true win-win-win for our retailers, our customers and us.”

Shopatron currently supports eCommerce for over 45 cycling brands. Cycling is one of the strongest growth markets for the company. In the three-year period from January 2008 to December 2010, sales passed from Shopatron-enabled cycling brands to their retailers increased 357 percent.

“Giant is a world-class company, with a passion for cycling and a reputation for innovation,” said Shopatron founder and CEO Ed Stevens. “We are proud to add such a prestigious company to our list of brands supporting local bike shops through the Shopatron order exchange.”
