Seattle Bike Supply Big Bike Book arriving at dealers • Zym celebrates fifth anniversary, 200 percent growth • VDO Cyclocomputers now carried by distributors

KENT, WA (BRAIN) Jan 26, 09:33 MT—Seattle Bike Supply shipped the 2012 version of its Big Bike Book catalog to its dealers on Monday. The company said dealers should expect to see their copy in the mail no later than Feb. 3.

This year's Big Bike Book is 744 pages and features a completely redesigned format, with more than 1,000 new, larger photos, a dedicated BMX section and reformatted SBS Wheelworks section.

The 2012 Big Bike Book was printed in the U.S. using Forest Stewardship Council-certified paper. “Over the years our catalog has been printed in many different places and shipped in many different ways. We are pleased to say that it was a U.S. printer who offered us the best quality, price and lead time for this new catalog,” said Doug Stuart, Seattle Bike Supply’s marketing manager.

SBS has included a coupon that can be used by dealers to receive up to an 8 percent discount and up to 120-day payment terms on preseason orders received during February 2012.

Zym celebrates fifth anniversary, 200 percent growth

CHICAGO, IL (BRAIN) Jan 26, 09:49 MT—Cyclist and endurance athlete Brian Koff started BE Innovations five years ago to develop and market his idea for a dissolvable electrolyte drink tablet. The company now markets three versions of the ZYM tablet through thousands of cycling, running and sporting goods stores. Sales last year were 200 percent over 2010.

Before founding BE, Koff had 10 years of experience in package design and branding, with companies such as General Mills, Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

VDO Cyclocomputers now carried by distributors

ROLLINSFORD, NH (BRAIN) Jan 26, 09:59 MT— Germany’s VDO Cyclecomputers will now be carried by Hans Johnsen, Wilson Bicycle Sales and Cyclone Bicycle Supply. Until recently, Ibex Sports was the exclusive, dealer-direct source for the brand.

Ibex Sports, VDO’s U.S. agent, will continue to offer sales support for parts and accessory distributors.

“The product has an awesome reputation for accuracy, but we have lacked the distribution reach in the U.S. We are excited to start working alongside our new distributors and supporting their dealers,” said James Penfold, CEO of Ibex Sports.

VDO is looking to add other distributors. Interested parties should contact Penfold at james@ibexsports.com.
