Women's Prestige Series gets going at Redlands • SRAM Gold Rusch Tour back with more dates • Headsweats partners with NBC Sports for Epic Cycle Series • Jetboil stoves now available through QBP

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (BRAIN) Mar 13, 16:47 MT—A long-running points series for women road racers will get rolling again for 2012 starting with the Redlands Bicycle Classic in California later this month.

The Women's Prestige Cycling Series is the only national-level series produced solely for women; it dates to 2003. It offers individual, team, sprinter and young rider divisions.

Last year’s individual title winner, Erinne Willock (Team TIBCO/To the Top) is taking a year off from women’s pro cycling to have a baby.  This year’s favorite could be among a long list, including Kristin Armstrong (Exergy-Twenty12) and Janel Holcomb (Optum Pro Cycling).

The series includes:
March 22-25: Redands Bicycle Classic
June 13-17: Nature Valley Grand Prix
July 17-22: BMC Cascade Cycling Classic

SRAM Gold Rusch Tour is back with more dates and locations

KETCHUM, ID (BRAIN) Mar 13, 16:52 MT—Offroad endurance racer Rebecca Rusch is expanding her SRAM Gold Rusch Tour for 2012, offering women of all ages an opportunity to ride bikes.

“Our inaugural Gold Rusch Tour last year was such a success that we wanted to expand for the 2012 tour. Of course our goal is to empower woman and girls to get on their bikes, but we also want to create a strong sense of community,” said Rusch. “I’m seeing more and more women on the trail. It’s awesome to get young girls and women of any age excited about the sport. I’m living proof that it’s never too late to learn to ride a bike.”

Headsweats partners with NBC Sports for Epic Cycle Series

CINCINNATI, OH (BRAIN) Mar 13, 16:58 MT—Headsweats has signed an exclusive agreement with NBC Sports Network to sponsor coverage of the Epic Cycle series beginning this week with Paris-Nice and culminating with the 2012 Tour de France.

“The cycling community is always growing and we recognize our sponsorship of the Epic Cycle Series as a solid way to enhance Headsweats’ brand recognition,” says Alan Romick, Headsweats founder.

In addition, for the third consecutive year, Headsweats will sponsor the “Ask Bobke” segments that will air on NBC Sports Network during coverage of the Tour de France.

Jetboil stoves now available through QBP
