Frederick to lead Giant’s GRP program

Published May 30, 2012

NEWBURY PARK, CA (BRAIN) Wednesday May 30 2012 11:48 AM MT—Gregg Frederick is assuming the role of director of retail services for Giant USA. Frederick, who has been with the company for 17 years, most recently was director of sales.

That role changed as part of sales department changes last fall when John “JT” Thompson joined Giant USA as executive sales director.

Frederick will now be responsible for heading up Giant’s Retail Partnership Program.

“Gregg’s key objectives are driving the GRP program to Giant’s best partners and growing the business model,” Thompson said, in announcing the change to dealers via a company newsletter. “He’ll institute a constant improvement plan with existing GRP retailers, and create standards and best practices that align with winning retail results.”

There are 29 Giant brand stores within Giant’s GRP program—stores that typically carry 80 percent-plus Giant product. Downtown Bicycles in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was Giant’s first GRP store in 2006.
