PORT COQUITLAM, British Columbia (BRAIN) Friday June 8 2012 5:13 AM MT—Norco has renamed its distributor business and launched a complementing website called livetoplaysports.com.
Previously called Norco Products, the distribution arm makes up about half of the B.C.-based company’s revenue, and is a top distributor for parts and accessories in Canada. Livetoplaysports.com is designed as a consumer-facing site, as well as a portal to provide dealers password-protected access to their wholesale accounts.
The site promotes photos and news from all its distributed brands, and links consumers to a searchable database of its entire brand portfolio where they can find dealers and warranty guidelines.
Eventually the goal is to integrate livetoplaysports.com with Norco’s SmartEtailing platform to expand its capabilities, but the scope of that hasn’t been determined, said Dustan Sept, PR/marketing coordinator for Norco.
“The future of commerce, everything is more on the digital side of things now. This is a transitional step in trying to suit the needs of what the dealer and consumer ultimately want,” Sept said.
Supporting a distribution-specific website is a step Norco has been working toward for the last two years. Norco.com, the site for Norco’s bicycle line, remains unchanged.
