NOVATO, CA (BRAIN) Tuesday July 3 2012 10:20 AM MT—Matt VanEnkevort, who resigned last week as managing director of Full Speed Ahead has joined Marin Bicycles as chief executive officer, the company announced Tuesday. VanEnkevort will start immediately.

Marin was founded in 1985. In February, the brand was sold to a European private investment group, Minestone LTD.

VanEnkevort has been in the bicycle industry for more than 25 years, with a background both in retail, aftermarket product management, bicycle product development, and brand development.

“I am really excited to join the team at Marin," he said. "I see clear equity within the brand, and a solid team in place to refresh the product range, and increase the relevance of Marin Bikes. I’ll be working closely with the staff of Marin to help grow our company both domestically and internationally. Marin has had strong support in international markets, and we’ll be looking to strengthen those relationships with improved product and programs.

He said he would be relocating to Marin County "very soon.”
