FRYEBURG, ME (BRAIN) — Maine distributor Downeast Bicycle Specialists has joined SmartEtailing’s Supplier Sync program, which makes it possible for subscribing retailer to display Downeast's inventory on their websites. Customers can check if products are in stock in the store or at Downeast and can order for store pickup. Products that are not in the retailer's inventory but are at Downeast are displayed as "In Warehouse."

“Affiliating with SmartEtailing is part of Downeast’s ongoing commitment to using technology to make it easier for dealers to do business with our company,” said Downeast President Doug Moore.

Downeast carries over 100 bicycle brands including Shimano, SRAM, Park Tool, Michelin, Planet Bike, Kryptonite, Kinetic and Topeak.

Downeast marks the seventh U.S. supplier to support the Supplier Sync program, joining Giant, Electra. BTI, Hawley, QBP and Trek. Supplier Sync for Canadian retailers is currently supported by Trek, Norco, Cycles Lambert and Outdoor Gear Canada.

“The appeal of Supplier Sync is even greater for stores located within one to two days delivery from Downeast’s warehouse,” said Mark Graff, co-founder of SmartEtailing. “It gives these retailers the confidence that they can quickly satisfy their local customers while reinforcing the importance of a connected, stocking distributor to the specialty supply chain.”
