Diamondback expands demo program to East Coast

Published February 19, 2013

KENT, WA (BRAIN)—Diamondback has expanded its retailer outreach and demo bike program for 2013 to cover a greater portion of the U.S.

Diamondback, which has pushed into a broader assortment of high-end mountain and road bikes for the 2013 model year, launched an outreach program in 2012 with a single demo van based on the West Coast. Based on that program’s success, Diamondback this year is adding a Sprinter van based on the East Coast.

The vans are equipped with fleets of Diamondback mountain, road and cyclocross bikes. Along with attending consumer events and races, the ambassadors driving the vans will focus on visiting Diamondback retailers, helping educate shop staff about Diamondback product and company direction.

“While we’ll be attending lots of events and races where consumers can try our bikes, we’re also putting the focus squarely on developing a closer relationship with our dealers … to help educate them about our products, our brand, and our direction,” said Diamondback marketing manager Jon Kennedy.

The West Coast van began its journey in California and will travel through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Oregon. The East Coast van will start its trek this month in Florida, heading up the East Coast before making its way west to Chicago.

Specific dates and locations for the vans will be updated periodically on Diamondback’s blog, along with tech tips and stories from the road.
