BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — After four years at Bikes Belong, most recently as senior vice president, Bruno Maier has resigned. He will step down Aug. 15, Bikes Belong announced in a press release.

Maier said he hopes to return to the private sector where he started his career in the bike business 21 years ago. Before joining Bikes Belong he worked for Huffy Bicycle Co., Brunswick Bicycles and Cycling Sports Group/Pacific Cycle.

During his tenure at Bikes Belong, Maier helped double the size of the advocacy organization. He also helped develop the brand and its programs.

“I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished during my time at Bikes Belong,” he said. “It is arguably one of the best jobs in the industry, but it is time to pass the torch.”

“Bruno has been an exceptional leader and he has helped to transform our organization,” said Tim Blumenthal, president of Bikes Belong. “His contributions have clarified our vision and set the table for the next phase of accomplishments.”
