QBP to service and sell Magura line

Published July 22, 2013

OLNEY, IL (BRAIN) — Quality Bicycle Products will distribute Magura suspension, brakes and spare parts and the distributor will also repair forks and brakes for the German brand, Magura recently announced.

Magura said that its OEM business is increasing with brands like Specialized, Cannondale, Cervélo and Pivot and prompted the move. The company also plans to increase shop visits and service clinics with mechanics.

“Year-to-date we’ve visited over 150 dealers and the No. 1 request coming from the dealers is ‘Can we buy spares from QBP?’” said Jeff Enlow, general manager of Magura Direct, which distributes, services and sells Magura products in the U.S. “The message was clear, so we approached Tyler Denniston at QBP, worked out the details, and we are happy to let those dealers know they can now buy Magura brakes, forks, spare parts and service items from QBP.”

Based in Bad Urach, Germany, Magura was established in 1893 by Gustav Magenwirth as a manufacturer of engines, hydraulic pumps and water pumps. The company is now renowned for its hydraulic road and mountain bike brakes, mountain bike suspension, handlebars and controls for motorcycles, and accessories, service and components for all types of two-wheeled vehicles.

Its U.S. distributor, Magura Direct, also distributes other European cycling brands including Uvex helmets and sunglasses and Vredestein tires.
