Breck Epic attracts new sponsors in fifth year

Published August 1, 2013

BRECKENRIDGE, CO (BRAIN) — The Breck Epic MTB Stage Race has drawn several new sponsors including SRAM, organizers said this week.

SRAM and its family of brands will assist with all mechanical needs.

“As the race has grown the needs of our riders have increased exponentially. It’s an insanely fun course, but it just devours equipment,” said race organizer Mike McCormack. “As a partner SRAM is ideal. They bring race-proven products with World Cup pedigrees and full coverage in terms of drivetrain, brakes and suspension.”

Other new supporters of the six-day race include WD-40 Bike, Thule, apparel brand Twin Six, pack maker Ortlieb USA, Polar Bottle and Chamois Butt’r.

The Breck Epic covers 240 miles in six days. The race is Aug. 11-16. More than 20 countries and 35 states will be represented this year. Organizers said women’s categories are well populated this year. And the race will include its first ever Enduro category, spanning 75 miles.
