Published December 3, 2013

WILTON, CT (BRAIN) Cannondale Sports Unlimited has opened its new global headquarters, in Wilton, Connecticut. The new 51,000-square-foot space will house research and development, engineering and marketing for all of its brands.

Cannondale Sports Unlimited is made up of Cycling Sports Group, Pacific Cycle Group and the Apparel Footwear Group, which includes Sugoi. The three divisions house a range of brands including Cannondale, Schwinn, Caloi, GT, Mongoose, Sugoi, Charge Bikes, Iron Horse, InSTEP, KidTrax and Guru.

The new building has a bike garage, fitness center and open spaces that leverage natural light from perimeter windows and central skylights, the company said in a press release.

Other features include a natural plant wall and a bistro/café area with an adjacent outdoor break area. The building was designed with sustainable elements such as an eco roof with solar panels, Low ‘e’ Energy Star windows, energy efficient HVAC systems and expansive natural lighting.

The office complex was new interior build-out in an office park.

“As Cannondale Sports Unlimited’s rapid growth continues, it’s critical that we have a world-class location for our employees to do their best work,” said Bob Baird, CEO and president of Cannondale Sports Unlimited. “With this new location we have created an inspiring environment for creativity and innovation, where employees can focus on designing, engineering and marketing our products.”

Cannondale Sports Unlimited worked with CPG Architects, Cushman & Wakefield, National Resources and Pavarini Construction Co. on the project.

CPG Architects, which specializes in corporate interiors, designed the open, bright office space. Commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield helped identify a site with proximity to New York City, which would support a wide array of operational needs, including office, R&D and product testing.

Real estate development and investment firm National Resources (NRE) also was a partner on the development of the iPark Wilton location. iPark provides CSU employees with large floor plans with high ceilings and abundant natural lighting. The landscaped campus features riverfront walking trails and a newly expanded LA Fitness health club.

Pavarini Construction Co. managed construction of the new corporate headquarters. Previously, global headquarters were in Bethel, Connecticut.
