Ride BMX adds racing section to its website

Longtime freestyle site adds BMX racing coverage after BMX Plus! ends publication.

CARLSBAD, Calif. (BRAIN) — RIDE BMX, a longstanding freestyle BMX website, is adding a racing section to its site. The site's operators said Hi Torque Publication's decision to stop publishing BMX Plus! magazine last year spurred their move.

"For 24 years, Ride has been the leading media brand for freestyle BMX and as we evolve as a media brand, we're excited to reach out to every facet of BMX in hopes of bridging the gap between freestyle and race while creating a hub for racers to find the latest news, products, and our own unique content," said Ryan Fudger, Ride's brand content director.

Ride has hired Jason McGuire, the former editor of PULL Magazine, to head up its racing coverage.

"The whole staff is psyched to have someone as passionate about racing as we are about freestyle and look forward to working with Jason McGuire," Fudger said.

McGuire said, "We plan on creating some world-class content and want to bring the BMX race scene some really rad stuff that they have not seen before." Race content will include feature articles, product spotlights, interviews and more.
