Interbike adds on-site sales Marketplace to OutDoor Demo

Published June 6, 2016

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Interbike announced Monday that it will offer a new Marketplace opportunity at this year’s OutDoor Demo (ODD) designed to encourage on-site sales of new products and closeouts to retailers and their staffs.

The new feature adds no extra cost to vendors and will be promoted aggressively to retailers. Companies interested in participating will need to opt in through their Interbike account executive.

“It’s no secret that when key influencers are able to ride or test products, it translates to sales at the shop level through their ability to convey personal experiences with that product,” said Pat Hus, vice president of Interbike. “The Marketplace was not only designed to accelerate the employee purchase process, it also allows for immediate product feedback from many of the 4,000 attendees who can now purchase product and use it at the event. If done right, exhibitors could also generate revenue to help pay for their booth. It’s really a win-win for everybody involved.”

“The Marketplace is a great idea, and one we will embrace,” said Russ Koza, brand director of 100%. “The interaction between our staff and the attendees has always been the reason we participate in ODD, but this program helps add a layer of value that we’ve been hoping would happen for years.”
